a space for women & girls experiencing hormonal changes to pray & worship Jesus

Hormonal levels in women fluctuate throughout the course of their life and can have significant impact on their daily living. Hormonal changes can occur due to puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, thyroid disorders, and more. These drastic fluctuations can leave us feeling irritable, fatigued, and/or increasingly critical of ourselves, others, and God ⎯ but we gather to Jesus in the tent called Menótra to reverence the redemptive work of Christ’s crucified and resurrected body and to reconnect with the female body He created and called good.

Why host a worship experience geared towards women & girls experiencing hormonal changes?

Worship and the body is intricately connected. In fact, Scripture calls us to worship the Lord with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and our bodies were created to house the holy spirit (Romans 12:1), but if the body is undergoing drastic physical, emotional, and mental change it can affect how we worship. It’s important we acknowledge the condition of our bodies in worship and offer them to Jesus in the fullness of their complexity. The incarnality of Christ (Jesus taking on our humanity) also draws note to importance of the body and Spirit.
